Colmar - my adventure as Belle

While we were roaming around near the southern German boarder we went a short trip over the boarder to France. Because of the massive interest about Beauty and the Beast now that the new Disney Original movie came out this year, we have seen some articles talking about this small old village that might have been the inspiration for Belles village in the original Disney cartoon back in the days. The small village is of course Colmar.
Mostly known is the Schwendi Fountain that should be the one Belle is seen sitting at and reading out laud for some sheeps.

Colmar is also known as "little Venice" as the river Lauch goes through the town in small channels and you are able to buy a small sailing trip around the town. There was a lot of people in line for the boats even though the weather wasn't the best, so it may be a good idea to get there in early if you want to see Colmar from the water.

One thing that was a little annoying was that the restaurants around the channels only serves flammkuchen; A pizza like dish with creme fraiche instead of tomato sauce. They told us to leave at the first restaurant because we said we just wanted something to drink if we couldn't get anything else but flammkuchen because i'm allergic to milk products. But we gave up trying to find a restaurants near the water that had anything else, so i had to eat it anyway.

As i said before there is a rumour that Colmar may have been the inspiration for Disney's Beauty and the Beast cartoon movie, so i thought i wanted to have a little fun with it.
Some years back i auditioned to be a Disney Princess at Disneyland Paris (didn't get the part) and back then i sewed my own Belle costume and slowly became a cosplayer (costume player) and did many more costumes after this. So why not bring my Belle costume to Colmar and have a little photoshoot and make some people happy?

So i packed my costume and got dresses on a parkinglot near the center of Colmar and wandered around the old part of the town near the channels. People glared at me and smiled while taking pictures as discreet they could. Other asked me for pictures, selfies and group pictures. Some children even started to scream Belle's name! It was such a fun experience! I have only ever cosplayed at conferences before so going out in public was nerve wrecking! I had my mom and dad walking along way behind me taking pictures of it all.

Cosplay Photoshoot: Genderbend Nathan Drake

Some time ago when it was the coldest weather me and my photographer friend Ayla to take some cosplay pictures.I have been working at this cosplay for some time last year and was wearing it at Comic Con Cophenhagen. It was my first time i have cosplayed at a convention so i felt kind of awkward when people took picutres of me and with me.

Nathan Drake is known for jumping around in ruins the most exotic places and Denmark is not exactly known to be the most exotic place on earth, but you don't haveto drive too far to find some old ruins. We ended up at the ruins of Bishop Jørgen Friss castle from 1528.
You can't drive all the way to it because it is in the middle of a lake with a small bridge leading to it.
It is a very popular place for active walkers so we did meet a few people on our way there and i was wearing my winter coat but had the makeup on so i looked bruised which made people look one more time.

Anyway. It was minus degrees and i was taking my coat on and off all the time. It was SO cold!! But i survived without getting sick and Ayla edited a couple of pictures you can see below.

Comic Con Copenhagen 2016

Is it possible to have a geek hangover?? Because i think i have one!

No but Comic Con Copenhagen was amazing and i wish it was longer!
I have been preparing myself for so long to this con. Even though my costume was quite simple it took me ages to make because everything was sewn by hand now that my sewing machine decided that it didn't want to sew in faux leather. Either way i was very satisfied with the result and i was wearing my Nathan Drake cosplay both Saturday and Sunday.

I have to mention that Friday was the longst day ever. 7 hours at work and then 6 hours in train to Copenhagen and then find the hotel. We were pretty dead when we finally landed in our beds.
That means that we were a little late to the con Saturday and totally didn't expect the giant queue at that hour. It also ment that i didn't get to see the presentation of Watch Dogs 2 on the big stage. A little sad but we could always go and look at Ubisofts booth.

While we were there we went to see to panels with two different actresses that Ayla and I are fans of. We saw Alycia Debnam-Carey who is a actress we know from Fear The Walking Dead. I saw the newest episode yesterday and it was weird to already see her and be like "I saw her live two days ago?" but also pretty cool.
Sunday we saw Kerry Ingram, known from Game of Thornes. I don't really watch the show myself, but Ayla is a big fan so i went along and pretended to know everything that people was talking about.

I know that a lot of people wasn't very positive about the con in general because there wasn't a lot of comic but a lot of video games and sales booths but i think it was great. Maybe because i'm not the biggest comic fan but i love video games. So i was excited about all the new games. And did i menting i bought Mochis? I haven't tried them yet but damn i have wanted to try those for ages. They had a lot of Japanese candy and many booths had Funko Pop figures. Of course i got a Nathan Drake (the dude i was cosplaying) and a Jacob Frye to my random collection.

Throughout the days they had some random events like dance-off's, flash mobs at the Just Dance 2017 booth, cosplay competitions and Star Wars march. All in all: It was pretty damn geeky awesome!

Halloween this year!

Nothing much was going on but it was very cozy.
Only a few friends was here and we were watching "scary movies" and I bought a lot of weird halloween snacks for us. Actually we didn't get to see the movie i most of all wanted to see. I have never seen Hocus Pocus but we started it and it crashed and we gave up because we were to tired to wait for it to work.
Denmark is still not the place for Halloween so we don't have children walking around and asking for candy so to do SOMETHING to make it a bit scary we went outside in the awkward dark tried to make my camera work and took some creepy pictures. We did a little makeup (ok maybe a little lot) to make it better. I really don't hope my neighbors could see us running around in the wet backyard with a ladder to hold the camera, some camping chairs and a lit pumpkinhead.

WIP pictures of Michael CLifford

I have been kind of MIA on this blog and i'm sorry about that but here i try again and comes with a WIP post about a drawing i did a while back of Michael Clifford from 5sos.
5sos is my favorite band at the moment and i get a lot of friendships out of it, so there was kind of a pressure on me to draw another band member. Well a pressure to draw Michael acutally, because i know 3 Michael girls.

My first cosplay photoshoot

Being creative is one of the things i enjoy most in life. When i was going to my Disney audition last year, i made a Belle costume i took with me but never got to use acutally. But i really loved making the costume and loved playing a character so i have 4 costumes now. One of them not quite finished.

Before summer i made an agreement with my friends that we had to go on a photoshoot when the weather was nice and well... we live in Denmark so there was not many chances in the summer. So in the end of August we went out on a photoshoot when i walked around town in my Belle costume.
They did a really great job with my hair and makeup. I was a lost case i both now that i naver do my hair and pretty much only wear eyeliner.

Both of them had a great camera with them and both serious pictures and silly picutres were taken. But if you want to see the best of the pictures please visit my DaviantArt gallery here.

Rapunzel cosplay DIY

I have been working on this dress for sooo long now. I did almost give up, because i though it was impossible and my sewing skills is not the best, but i kept going and i have been making a huge progress the last few days! So i though i wanted to show you it on here, like i do on my instagram.

I bought a dress in the secondhand shop and it just screamed Rapunzel so i got it for only 55DKK or less? I can't remember, but it is creap for a dress made out of satin. I think it is someones old prom dress to be honest.

I stared down pinstest for a few weeks and started to buy all the materials i though i needed. When i told the lady in the hobby store what my plan was and said i didn't have any experience in making dresses (beside the Belle one of course) she just looked at me weird. "Are you sure you want to do this?" oh hell yes.

I think it is going pretty well! ANd yes i got a wig too!

WIP pictures of Alex Gaskarth

I am so slow and i am sorry but not much is happening around me at the moment, so i find it hard to blog, but i have a few creative things i can put up here.
As i wrote in my last post i was at the Tinderbox Festival to see All Time Low last month and of course i had to draw my favorite member of All Time Low (Even though i think i got a new favorite member after the concert hihi)

I present to you, THE Alex Gaskarth in A4.

WIP pictures of Ashton Irwin

I did this drawing before the concert 12th May, so it is kind of old, but i didn't share it here on my blog so here it is! My beloved drummer boy Ashton Fletcher Irwin :3

And now that they can't have their tally logo anymore i was a rebel and did it on the drawing anyway because fuck that! The tally will stay forever!

WIP pictures of Gandalf the Gray

Yet another fan drawing. It is pretty much the only thing i draw to be honest!
This one was a request from a friend who is a big Lord of the Ring fan. Not that i'm not a fan, but you know.

I made a list on DeviantArt of people/characters i want to draw in the future! Then you can see what to expect on the blog in the future.

WIP pictures of Mad Hatter

I have been away for a while now and im sorry! again..
But really.. im out of inspiration to write a blog, because nothing is really happening at the moment.
Most of the times im reading, writing or drawing.

But why not post a few drawings? I'm starting a "project". I have a whole bunch of people i want to draw, so i've started with more Johnny Depp because i'm OK obsessed with that dude and all his characters.

Maybe i will try and make some more computer drawings as well now that i have found out that i want to start studying as a Multimedia Designer. Just practicing.

If you want to, you can follow be on DeviantArt to see what i put up there or of course here on the blog.

My Disney audition

This is about one of the most crazy things that i will ever do in my life. Well.. at least for now.

I am actually going to an audition to be a Disney character at Disney Land Paris! I don't know why i am doing this, but it is so crazy and unlike me to do this, that i just have to do it!
I'm going to try for a part as Belle from Beauty and the Beast!

The last week i have been working on the dress for this audition and i have never made anything like this before. I have made a few teddy bears or so, but not a dress. I made it without template so i had to cut a few cm of the skirt part, becuase i am apparently really bad at math... But i made it and im proud of myself.

I am going to the audition the 11th so wish me luck! Because i have no idea about what im doing or going to do. They don't really tell you anything.
Im crazy nervous!

My 21th birthday

It has been a long week now that both me and my dads birthday is over!
We have birthday only two days apart so for his birthday we invited the family over and i was in the kitchen the whole day before baking 3 cakes and it was crazy.
He wanted two nougat pies but i wanted to try a strawberry cheesecake so yeah.

On my birthday though we went to a Chinese restaurant where the birthday girl/boy can eat for free! Yesss!

Another of my friends had birthday the same day as my dad so i was at her place in this week too and she made two cakes as well.

I had a small birthday party this weekend for some of my closest friends and they brought a cake as well so this week has been filled with cake with cake and a hint of cake. I don't want to eat cake in a long time now... wow...

Anyway i got some really nice giftes! beside a lot of money i got i few things to unwrap even though i just turned 21.

Funny detail! The purse is made by my uncles girlfriend! It's really cool *.*

I'll do a update later with these pencils because they have been on my wishlist for sooo long!
Birthday outfit! My dad hated the ears but my grandma though they were cute so meeeh!  :C

Things are happening on DeviantArt

I used a lot of my vacation to sit the shadow on my yogamat because it was too hot to be in the sun... simple!
So i was smart enough to take all my drawing tools with me! Almost everything i made this summer is on DeviantArt now and it will mean the world to me if you would take a look on some of my drawing! If you are on DeviantArt yourself we can trade a watch? Just leave a comment!

London shopping: Creative edition

I could not find my giant hobby store i have marked on one of my maps.. well... because i freaking forgot that map.. genius Helene... but i found some smaller once around the hotel and on a side street from Oxford Street called Ryman. It's a great shop and they have a lot of different things for the hobbyist.

The Ryman near the hotel was not that big but i got a folder and plastic pockets in A5 which is hard to find in DK, but they fits perfectly for my drawing now that i mostly use A5 size paper.

The Ryman near Oxford Street was a little bigger and had a few things i could use. These are skine tones colour pencils which i just needed. I already have the 36 pack Faber Castell colours (link to the left in Drawing and tools) but it does not have all these skintone colours. Derwent is a brand i know (i have the charcoal pencils) so there was no doubt when i found these. I needed them!

Yes these are pencils from HB to 8B i think and yes they are really horrible and draws like shit, but i got them because i liked the case they were in! I replace them with the drawing things i use the most and i can have my A5 paper in it ass well so i got myself a new pencil case that my pencils will not get ruined by!

DIY: Jeans to overalls shorts!

So i wanted to do this for a long time and i finally did it! I have too many jeans i don't use anymore because of my weight loss so why not make something out of them instead of throwing them out?

I got the legs of them at the same length as my favorite shorts +3cm to sewing the edges up as a detail.

The upper part is a piece of one of the legs and i used a part of the other leg as the suspenders. It was not long enough though so i had to sew a piece of the leftovers from the other leg in the end of the suspenders but it dosen't look so bad i think :3

But if you want to make them yourself then remember to measure up because it will end up like a disaster o.o

Btw! the button thingy in front is named overall buckles on ebay ;-D got mine at the local hobby store though

Fun fact! The buttons is from when i was a scout xD  you get a "meeting button" every half year
if you have been to the meetings every week without missing one! I was a total geek and had too
many of them, so i had 4 that could not be on my uniform because it was full!!!

Sorry Norman Reedus.. i forgot how to art!

It have been a long time since i used my charcoal pencils cause im getting more use to draw on my drawing tablet now, so when i decided i wanted to draw my new ermh... *cough* old man crush *cough* i didn't know how to even start xD

I made a sketch with my normal 4B pencil before i started with the charcoal pencils cause they are not made for thin almost invisible lines! anyways i was staring at this sketch for.. i don't know how long, cause i forgot how to draw all of the sudden O.O

And i though it was a "throw outer" when i started with the eyes but i guess it went pretty well?? but the crossbow was a bitch.. and i don't want to play with bitches so it is shaded and nothing else cause OMG die crossbow...

I am not happy about the result but it's okay i guess..

My very beloved charcoal pencils in the right in different tones! The blending stumps in a must have if you want a lot of shades and i use a napkin under my hand so i don't ruin the drawing.
