Lindau - The city in the lake

On our way around Germany we stayed in the Lindau area near the Bodensee most of the time. We found it way easier to place our caravan somewhere and then drive around from there, even though it was more than 100km away.
The area is just up against the border to Austria, so you have to watch out and don't make the wrong turn, if you don't want to pay road taxes to drive in Austria.

In the area Lindau is a city called Lindau (such an imagination). It's a small city on a island in the Bodensee wihch is connected with two bridges. We used the eastern bridge and was met with a beautiful park/garden area with lots of colourful flowers on the right and a Casino on the left which isn't happy about you using their parking lot (We didn't realize it wasn't a public parking so we got locked in and had to ask them nicely if they would let us out again. Many other tourist did the same every day apparently).

One of the things Lindau is most known for is their harbour. Right at the entrence from the lake side are two gigant monuments. One of them is called the Bavarian Lion and the other is a beautiful lighthouse; both from 1856. The Bavarian Lion got its name from Bavaria, also known as Bayern in german. Bayern is the most south eastern state in Germany and of course where Lindau is. The Bavarian Lion can be seen on their coat of arms.

The new lighthouse and the Bavarian lion

The old lighthouse
Further in the harbour is the only lighthouse from 1300s which is much more colourful and unique in my opinion. Sadly you can't go inside like with the new one.
Along the harour is a wide selection of different restaurants and tourist shops. It is also possible to buy a boat trip on the Bodensee.

I have to admit that it was almost 40degrees when we went here and it was almost too hot ot do anything else but crawling in the shadows. We hurried throught the main street Maximillianstrasse and saw the old part of the city and St. Stephens Church from 1180.
I was a bit disappointed when we ran right past the Former Imperial City Library in the Old Town Hall. I love old libraries and the way they made books back in the days. But i'm more okay with it, after visiting the Library in St. Gallen.
The old town hall

Fun tip!!!
If you are ready to go for a long walk and want to see something a bit strange, then tage a walk along the water at schützingerweg. There is a fun shop called Wiedemann Decoration GmbH which has mady strange sculptures in a hidden away garden. Everything in there is for sale but maybe a bit hard to take with you home. It's really beautiful though so its worth a visit!

Lichtenstein - A mordern spot in the middel of the antique

So this summer we went on a small road trip and while we were around, we took a quick trip to Lichtenstein.
Licktenstein is my third visit to a "microstate" in Europe. I camped in Luxembourg many years ago with my parents and really loved Luxenbourg city which was full of life and it was crazy to see all the mordern people in their fancy working clothes everywhere. I was in Andorra in 2014 when i went to guide school. We were only there for a day to shop and trying River Rafting for the first time.

Lictenstein was very different. Andorra and Luxembourg are all about cheap shopping. Lots of designer brands are a lot cheaper here than everywhere else in Europe. But that's not at all the same in Lichtenstein. Lictenstein is very expensive. I guess they have that from thier neighbor Schwitzerland which is too damn expensive as well. But the "shopping" streets in Vaduz is really empty anyway. There isn't really much. I had to remind myself that it wasn't any bigger than 160 km2 and they can't have much considering all the mountains they have as well. But it really isn't the best place for tourists. I think it's the fact that you can tell that you were there afterwards that makes people come. And well.. the stamp in your passport you can buy for 3 euros in the tourist information.

There was one thing i was interested in and it's the pretty castle on the top of a "mountain" right behind Vaduz. Schloss Vaduz is the official residence of the Prince of Liechtenstein, so you can't visit it as a tourist. It's a shame now that it's one of the only tourist attractions, but i do understand if the royal family don't want anyone running around.

The picture above is taken down the "main street" in Vaduz and as you can see it's very modern, which again is very much like their neighbor Schwitzerland are. I just expected it to be a lot more old-fashion and with an "alt stadt" like you see everywhere in the surrounding countries. But they have a lot of modern art galleries and art in the streets. Their facination about modern art shows in their souvenirs as well and the princes shows that most of it has some kind of artists name on it or brand. The chain stores like H&M is no where to be seen either. So it's a place for you, if you have a very big wallet and an interest for modern art.

Colmar - my adventure as Belle

While we were roaming around near the southern German boarder we went a short trip over the boarder to France. Because of the massive interest about Beauty and the Beast now that the new Disney Original movie came out this year, we have seen some articles talking about this small old village that might have been the inspiration for Belles village in the original Disney cartoon back in the days. The small village is of course Colmar.
Mostly known is the Schwendi Fountain that should be the one Belle is seen sitting at and reading out laud for some sheeps.

Colmar is also known as "little Venice" as the river Lauch goes through the town in small channels and you are able to buy a small sailing trip around the town. There was a lot of people in line for the boats even though the weather wasn't the best, so it may be a good idea to get there in early if you want to see Colmar from the water.

One thing that was a little annoying was that the restaurants around the channels only serves flammkuchen; A pizza like dish with creme fraiche instead of tomato sauce. They told us to leave at the first restaurant because we said we just wanted something to drink if we couldn't get anything else but flammkuchen because i'm allergic to milk products. But we gave up trying to find a restaurants near the water that had anything else, so i had to eat it anyway.

As i said before there is a rumour that Colmar may have been the inspiration for Disney's Beauty and the Beast cartoon movie, so i thought i wanted to have a little fun with it.
Some years back i auditioned to be a Disney Princess at Disneyland Paris (didn't get the part) and back then i sewed my own Belle costume and slowly became a cosplayer (costume player) and did many more costumes after this. So why not bring my Belle costume to Colmar and have a little photoshoot and make some people happy?

So i packed my costume and got dresses on a parkinglot near the center of Colmar and wandered around the old part of the town near the channels. People glared at me and smiled while taking pictures as discreet they could. Other asked me for pictures, selfies and group pictures. Some children even started to scream Belle's name! It was such a fun experience! I have only ever cosplayed at conferences before so going out in public was nerve wrecking! I had my mom and dad walking along way behind me taking pictures of it all.

Graduation and my mini European road trip

Quick update!
Long time no see.
I have been very busy with my studies the last half year because it was the end of it. I can now say that i have an academy degree in service and tourism management!
The vacation this year was well deserved in my opinion and was a lot different than my summer vacations usually are.
Every summer we use to go to my dad's family in Frence and stay at a camp site on the German side of the boader, but this year we actually went to 5 different countries in just 2½ week.
Germany, Austra, Schwitzerland, Liechtenstein and France.

We visited the area near the Bodensee and camped on the german side of the lake in a city called Lindau, while driving around from there. Bodensee is a lake shared between Germany, Austria and Schwitzerland, so we didn't have to drive very far to get to another country. We actually got lost a few times and accidentally ended up in Austria.

We visited the Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany, St. Gallen and Rheinfall in Schwitzerland, Bregnz in Austria, took a short trip to Vaduz in Liechtenstein and did a photoshoot in Colmar in Frence. I will talk about all these things in differnt posts that will come out soon.

Of course we ended up in Rüdesheim again afterwards and stayed there for a week and justed relaxed and tried to do as little as possible which we deserved at that point! It was really awesome to have a full vacation without thinking too much about the academy stuff like last year where we had to hurry home so i could start my internship in the middle of July.

Tenerife - Los Christianos, from quiet fishing village to tourism paradise

Last weekend i got home from a week on Tenerife, the beautiful Spanish island close to the African west coat. I have been there before in 2012 when i went to secondary school ('gymnasium' in danish) on a studytrip because my A level was biology. It's a vulcanic island and it's far from any mainland so the nature has been partly untouched for hundreds of years at some places in the heights.

We lived in Los Christianos which is an old fishing village that has grown a lot since the tourists started to come to the island. Even i could see the different from 2012 to now. A few new hotels has been build since i was there last time. The village, or you can call it a city now, has grown together with the neighbor city Las Americas which was almost only build for the purpose of the tourists. That means it's not any traditional Spanish Canaria city and it's very affected by other cultures. That's why this is the place where you go to eat, drink and party. There is activity all day and all night near the beach and in the side streets, while Los Christianos is a bit more down to earth and relaxing.
That's why i recommended my family that we went there, instead of Las Americas. I think my family was kind of thankful for that, because loud music inside or outside the hotel though you had to go kind of far to get to the beach and all the resturents and souvenirer shops. The walk down there was not a problem for me and the weather is always warm so i think it was just ading to the experince that you had to pass all the locals to get down to the harbor where the big ferries are laying. You can also rent fishing rods and go big game fishing. There is small stalls lined up from different companies that get you on a boat so you can try to catch some fish you can't catch home in the cold north.

The harbor in Los Christianos around dinner time.

The hill/mountain that kind of splits Los Christianos and Las Americas.
Picture taken from the terrace at Hotel Los Alisios.

We stayed at hotel Los Alisios (Again for my part) and i have to say that the hotel has become so much nicer than last time i was there. Not that there was anything wrong with it before but they have modernized all rooms and made new bathrooms (without tubs though) and it all just looked really nice and actually kind of Scandinavian? Maybe there was a reason for that, because there was a whole lot of Swedes and Norwegians at the hotel and some of the staff could speak Swedish.
To our big surprise and to my dad amusment we could actually watch DR1 on there TVs in the rooms and follow the danish news. There was a lot of different channels from a lot of other different countries so you could see the news from where ever you come from. That's a nice detail.
The rooms (or call it flats) were will full kitchen so we could eat breakfast in our rooms. A few of the days we went down and ate at the restaurant at the hotel and the buffet was really nice. There was a lot to choose from even though i'm allergic to a few things.
It's a hotel i can highly recommend if you are not somehow physically disabled. The hotel is laying on a "small" hill and is quiet a walk away from the main city/tourist area.

Kitchen and dining table.

I don't have a picture of the main bedroom where my parents stayed. Only this where i stayed.
Perhaps the most comfortable hotel bed i have ever slept in. No jokes!

The new bathrooms.

Egeskov Castle

When I were in Odense with one of my friends we decided to take one of our other old friends under the arm and go to Egeskov Castle which is a little outside Odense. We took both the train and bus to get out there but the bus stops right outside the castle so that was not a problem at all. It was actually really easy.

It is a bit pricy to get in, especially if you are a student but there is A LOT to explore out there. The castle itself is not that big but there is a lot of history in the paintings and the hunting trophies there are basically everywhere. In the attic they have this really creepy wooden statue/doll that is lying on its side and there is myth that says that if you move the statue, the whole castle will destroy itself and simply fall into the water around it. Creepy!
Near the castle there is a little clothes museum with clothes from 1800 century and some of it is a bit older but not much. I found it really fascinating and took a lot of pictures because I love reading and learning about that period of time and I do love the corsages. The clothes are from the servants to the owners of the castle so you can see the different from poor to rich. There are also the different from winter to summer of course. Further down in the area there is another house with more clothes but also the carriages and cars they must have used and other equipment the works used on the castle and of course outside in the garden as well.

The thing I think most people are coming for in the summer is the garden around the castle. It is huge and there are small signs that tell you what all the plants are. We brought some lunch with us and sat on the grass between hundreds of beautiful flowers. As a part of their huge garden they have a labyrinth you can try to solve. It is like in the movies, you can’t look over the hedges and you can’t really cheat. You have to find the center of the labyrinth where there is a platform that leads to the bridge over the labyrinth and out. It took us exactly 15 minutes to find into the center of the labyrinth.
Again we were there a day where people was at school and work but at busy days there will be a employee that will make sure you get out again, If you get lost. They will give you a flag so you can show where you are and they will guide you out.

Something I really enjoyed was the hanging bridges they have made in the trees! In the middle of their own little forest.  It can be very nerve-wracking if you don’t like the height but there is a good view from up there. They also had a huge climbing tower on their playground that I enjoyed. I don’t why but if there is something I can crawl on and up I will always do it. I don’t really care that I am considered an adult in those situations! Haha.

If you are interested they have a huge collection of vintage motorcycles and a showroom for bicycles through the ages. As well as old cars, planes and other machinery that I don’t really know much about but the old London bus caught my attention because I had seen it in movies before. It’s of course fun to see but it has never been a big hobby of mine, but I took some pictures for my parents and grandparents and they were very interested. So you can say that they have something for everyone out at Egeskov Castle.

Odense zoo

A few weeks back I went to Odense with one of my friend to watch her sisters flat aka take the opportunity to get away from home for a while and maybe do some sightseeing in your own country. Even though I have a lot of friends studying in Odense I have never really been other places than their flats and the shopping opportunities. There are a lot of them actually.
I simply have to tell about my way there. I think I had the most unlucky travel ever. First of all I day to get up pretty early and smart as I am, I had decided the day before that I could pack the rest I needed in the morning. Did I do that? Not exactly… So I kind of had to get out and buy some clothes when I got there.

On the way there with the train I heard a huge BUMP and I felt the train run something over and I feared the worst! Then the train driver said in the speaker that he had hit a freaking cow. A COW! So he had to check if the train was okay and we were 15 minutes late (and yes the cow did die). When I went into the next train and there was a man checking my travel card it had somehow stopped working? It had working the moment before when I checked in on the station but it stopped working when I sat in the train. Perfect! So when I got to Odense I had to find the DSB office and get a new card because they had never seen that error before. When we were finally going to take the bus out to the flat I find out that I can’t use the freaking travel card in the busses in Odense yet so my friend had to pay for me. Just me luck?

The first day we spent in Odense ZOO because I have heard they have a Red Panda which is my favorite animal. It didn’t really come out while we were there and I have learned it is a night animal, so I guess I have to be really lucky to see it. We were there on a Tuesday when everyone else was at school and work so we had it almost all to ourselves and we used a lot of time with the giraffes. Right when we went into their area they opened the gate to their house and they all ran in to eat while we were standing there so we were really close to them.  We also used a lot of time with the lemurs. They were jumping around and especially one of them jumps up and sat right above us and stared us down. It almost sounded like it was whining when we tried to go away from it so we were standing and talking to it for quite a while.

Also my friend has a thing for goats so we had to into the “kids zoo” and pet with some goat kids. One of the small goats tried to eat her boots and it was so cute! …Until it tried to eat my shoelaces as well.
They had some very cute manatees you can watch from “under the water” while they eat. They are so big and clumsy and also very cute when they hold onto their salad head when they are eating.
We were at the ZOO for so long that we had to hurry through the penguin area even though they were standing there and almost posing for pictures.

I have to say that even though Odense is not a capital they have a pretty good zoo and you could get pretty close to the animals almost everywhere. (Of course through a glass window or something like it) All their animals seemed happy from our point of view even though they were locked up you know. The lions had so much more space than the ones in Berlin City zoo. But a fun detail is that the lion enclosure was right across the enclosure with the gazelles. The lions looked so desperate to get over there.  The poor lions can't do anything else than look at them every day.

Cococay - Royal Caribbean's own island

The second Island we were visiting in Bahamas was a small island called Cococay. It is owned by the cruise company Royal Caribbean so we were the only ones on the island which was pretty awesome. You had to get another boat into the island, because the water was pretty low around the island, so it took some time to get of the ship. Everyone wanted to get out at the same time, but the other boats were pretty small comparing to Majesty of the Seas.
The island is full of activity you can buy a ticket to at the cruise. My friends and i rented some snorkling gear and i went snorking for the first time.
I am an old professionel swimmer so i didn't think much of it at first because i know i can do that shit, but it was a whole other feeling to it, when you can only breath through your mouth. I got a hang of it pretty quickly but i didn't like to dive with the thing in my mouth. So when ever i wanted to get close to some of the colourful fish i took it out and just dived without it. I felt a little too claustrophobic.

A sad thing about my snorkling trip was that the corals was pretty much dead. They were very grey and colourless, so the amount of fish was also at a minimum. I actually adressed the issue in a short report i made for my exam about ethical tourism, you can read it here. But one thing i totally loved was the parts from a ship that was spread across the bottom of the sea. The fish that was left was all over those part. There was actually a small plane there as well. I guess they have been placed there but it was beautiful to see anyways. I'm still angry at myself that i could not find a underwater camera. Of course i found it at the small market as soon i gave the rental station their gear back. Typical!

One thing i absolutly loved was the fact that it was Royal Caribbean's own island so all the food and drinks was included in the cruise ticket, so you only needed your room card. There is some locals from other islands that takes a boat out there and sells stuff, so it could be smart to bring som money, but if you don't need souvenirs then you grab the free towel from the cruise and go on land.
The island can do it all. Lying on the beach all day or parasailing? You can do what you want!

The view of Majesty of the Seas from the shore.

Nassau - The republic of Pirates

As to compensate that we didn't get our spring vacation while we went to study in Florida, we went on a cruise in the end of the stay. It was a 5 days cruise, 4 night from Miami Beach to Nassau (The capital city of Bahamas), Cococay and Key West.

We went with Royal Caribbean's Majesty of the Seas which is a 268m long beautiful ship with a friendly crew and awesome food. Read more about the whole cruise experience here (coming soon).

As the history geek i am i started to do some research as soon i knew which islands of Bahamas we were going to visit. It is a good idea to start the resarch at home and bring it with you, because the internet on board is crazy expensive and the roaming deal you can get is often only in the US which do NOT include Bahamas, even though some think that Bahamas is a part of US.

Nassau
The capital city of Bahamas is known for pirates. Lots of them! Popular movies like Pirates of the Caribbean actually takes place in Nassau at some point  because the area was once called the Republic of Pirates between 1709 to 1718 before the brits came and claimed it back. Lot's of famous pirates have been living there! And just to mention one that everyone knows; Blackbeard was one of the pirate captains to live in Nassau.
I found a lot of stuff to see but sadly we didn't have enough time to see much of it. I wanted to see Blackbeards Tower but it was simply too fare away from the port so we went to see The Queens Staircase instead. It was kind of hard to find because they don't have any sign that says "This way!" and when we passed a hospital we were sure that we were going the wrong way. Then suddently there was a guy in front of us. He was a voluntary guide and told as a long story about the place and how it was made my hand of slaves. He was really sweet and funny and we gave him a few dollars for the guiding.

When you reach the top of the stairs you end up near the water tower and Fort Fincastle that was build in 1793, same year as the Queens Staircase and build by the same bastard. As far as i remembered was the staircase build by slaves so that they could flee from the Fort faster when you got attacked, but they never got attacked! So it was kind of a waste of the slaves lives. The british queen freed the slaves and that's why they call it The Queens Staircase today. Simply to honor the queen. If you are going to visit the place one day, i hope there will be a guide that was as interesting as the one we had. He also told us about the best photo spots and showed us where you could see where the slaves used picks to make the huge gab into the rocky hill.
The one thing that annoyed me about the place was the market stalls when you get up the stairs. Some of the locals was selling god knows what and everyone was yell at you to come buy stuff. I'm the kind of person that just get scared of that kind of them and runs past them all, not even looking at their stalls. At least they didn't grab you like they do in some other countries.
Our guide at Queen's Staircase

Fort Fincastle
Shopping
Nassau is the place where every cruise ship in Bahamas ends up and that does show in the kind of stores that are in the "main street" Bay Street right at the port. When you get past all the crazyness of people that want to sell you all kinds of souvenirs as soon you leave the ship, you get to a lot of shops only with jewelry, handbags and shoes. Even though it was cheaper than in the US - and everywhere else i guess - it is still not something that i could afford.
But at Bay Street you can find a huge old building called Straw Market which is kind of like Camden Market in London. It's a huge hall with small stalls that sells pretty much everything and the sellers are sitting in front of their stalls and calls people over. I think i got called Sweetheart a dozen times in there because they are not overrunning you like at some markets but they do want your attention.

A thing i want to add is that you can actually use your American Dollars in Bahamas but when they give you money back it is often Bahamas Dollars which you can't use i the US. They are really pretty though so if you collect coins it's worth just buying a small thing to get your hand on them!

Straw Market and Bahams cents

A fun little nerdy detail!
If you (like me) like to play video games, you may have run across the Assassin's Creed games. The fourth game called Assassin's Creed: Black Flag is about a pirate called Edward Kenway. The whole game is about the area and the Republic of Pirates. In the game you meet Blackbeard and he becomes your companion in the battle against the spanish and brits that want to take over Bahamas again. In the game you are running around Nassau and even though The Queens Staircase wasen't made at the time of the Republic of Pirates, the game developers placed it in the game anyway because it is such a big part of Bahamas history. Many of those who live there today are related to the slaves that was freed back then.
The Pirate King aka Henry Every that is now known from the game Unchanted 4, did also come across Nassau in 1696. He kind of made it a safe place for pirates to trade goods already back then.

SOBE Wine & Food festival

Back in when i was in Florida we were so lucky to work at the South Beach Wine and Food Festival. We lived at the SoBe hostel and hat to walk from 2th to 16th where the volunteers tent was but i was working at the south tent so i had to walk almost all the way back again, just inside the festival walls.

The first day we were standing around a lot because they didn't really know what to do and (sorry) but the communitation was really bad between the leaders. We were all under a teamleader and mine kept disappearing? I only saw her the first day so i was kind of lost the next day but i ended up under another teamleader. We started to get the tables for the exhibitors and was not doing much anyway. The first day of the festival was also kind of slow because we could now really do anything. There is a low in US that says that we could not handle alcohol as volunteers so we could not ever lift the exhibitors boxes for them.

Saturday was the day where everything happened. It was more food now that wine and alcohol but they took me from the South tent and and put me in the welcome center. So i used my whole Saturday by saying hello to people and give them giftbags. There were so many people and we were running around and did get a really late lunch. I was a little pissed that i didn't get to be inside the walls and experience the festival because that was my job at first. There was a lot of awesome things happening inside that i really wanted to see and help with but the leaderes was sooo confused and ran around. Because those who send me in the Welcome center did not talk with my new teamlader in the South tent, so they thought i wasn't there at all. It was really confusing.

The last day i RAN into the festival and to the South tent so i did not miss it that day. There was not at much activity as Saturday but there was A LOT of people anyway. It was fun and i became somehow friends with some of the exhibitors i helped out. We had a lot of fun and i got to talk with some of the other students from FIU that volunteered. We talked about the different way we studied in Denmark vs US which we on the trip experienced. It was funny to hear someone else's opinion about random stuff and how different it is, just because you live in another first world country.

All in all a fun thing to try and academically we felt our models about working environment on our own bodies. You understood it much better, instead of just reading about it all.

Teambuilding at FIU

While we were in Miami we went to a teambuilding exercise that i honestly think that we should have had in the start of out trip.
It was out at the FIU as well and was right by the sea. They had us do a lot of different tasks you could only do if you were working as a team. You were forced into communicate with people you didn't really know and ask for help or listen to a stranger.

We had tasks where we had to do it without speaking and only use our body language. We had to make a huge "ship" balance so it didn't tip over with any of us.
The instructors challenged us on time in many different physical tasks and i can tell you that my legs hurt so much after that day. The fact that we lived on seconds floor at the hostel was killing me. But i have to say, that there was not a challenge we didn't complete! We were quite awesome!

In the end of the day we had to climb. Many from our class was dying a little inside when they saw the "tower" when we arrived at the place. I am very glad that i'm not afraid of hights because our journalist had a Go Pro camera with her that she placed on my head so i could film my whole journey up the tower. I hope her video will be released at some point because the view was amazing up there. Something that wasn't too fun was to be the one on the ground that has to hold on tight so the person climbing didn't fall down. You get a pretty serious wedgie when they have to get down and you have to put in your weight against theirs.

Florida International University

So we went to Miami after a week in Orlando to visit FIU (Florida International University). The fist day it was raining like crazy and we actually got lost on our way there, because it was raining so much that we could not see the roads we had to turn on. So people! IF it rains in Miami, it freaking rains in Miami. OK!
When we finally got there we ran from building to building to find our class and Professor Tanke. We were soaked when we finally sat down and i'm pretty sure that the american students were laughing at us. We could have come right up from the ocean and we would have looked the same. We soon found out that people in Miami are crazy abou the aircondition, so note to self; bring a sweatshirt next time you go to school and have to be indoor. They told us that there is a lot of aircondition on there schools because their professors have to wear kind of nice and formal clothes and it would be too hot for them. The University was so kind to us and gave us free dry shirts with the schools logo on.

In Professor Tanke's class we had about Multicultural Diversity. They take it much more serious than we do in Denmark and i do believe they think about it more than we do. It's not just about race but also age, religion and gender. It was kind of weird at first to discuss at first because we had about service and toursim? But as a lot of examples came on the table it all made sense.
One in particular i remembered was that one of our danish students said something like "All elderly people don't like to see people with piercings and tattoos behind the counter in a supermarked" and the american students all gasped. How could we say "all elderly people"?! It was too generalizing and mad to say. Im sure that if you said that in Denmark not anyone would see it as offensive in any way or you would just shrug. And not to be rude or anything but it sounds like that americans are easier to be offended and if you work in the tourism industry and world with people you have to be extra careful about what you say.

We went to the University the rest of the week and had the opportunity to really see how it was to go there and enjoy campus. It was so awesome and i'm a bit jealous about it.They had a pool right at campus and their canteen was a freaking Subway. Simple 6 menu, yes please! Give me all them cookies! Their library had a starbucks because... why not. I could really get use to it!

Universal Studios Florida

The day after spending the whole day i Disney we took a trip to Universal Studios. We bought a Park-to-park ticket so we could go from Universal Studios and Adventure island as we wanted and well.. take the Hogwarts express from park to park.
I have to admit i was there mostly because of the Harry Potter World which was spread out in both the parks. In the Universal Studios park we saw Crustyland like in The Simpsons, some kind of Dapper land with blues drummers and Shrek. We went to find the Hogwarts Express. We met a guy working near "the Kings Cross station" and he told me that i could take the train, or i could continue down the street we were on. Sure thing and we saw the Nightbus and all but then... we went into something that looked like a wall? It was a little weird but on the other side... Diagon Alley! And i have to say... I cried... a whole lot. It was magic and i couldn't take a picture that described how awesome and beautiful it was to see, if you are a huge Harry Potter fan. And i am very sorry Kristina, that you had to witness that. But i went into every single store in Diagon Alley even though most of them had the same things. I tried the Gringotts ride which was with amazing 3D effects. I can't describe how awesome it was. If you are just a little fan of Harry Potter DO IT.

After that we went to the Adventure Island with the Hogwarts Express whivh was crazy awesome as well. Instead of having the view of just trees on the way there, they showed the sceenary that are showed in the movies and Hagrid flies pass on his motorcycle. And on the close to see through doors we got a visit from the Dementors but was saved by the shadows of Harry Potter and his friends. You could hear them talk as well.
As you step out on the Adventure Island you step right out in Hogsmeade and this time i DIDN'T CRY ok. But it was a snow landscape and i bought a Pumpkin Juice to go (not good though) and went through the street until i came to Hogwarts. We were there on Valentines day, so there was long queues everywhere so you could stand there and see everything and take pcitures of all the magical Harry Potter things that was around you. The portraits were talking and Dumbledore was in his office and Harry and his friends were in the classroom which looked exactly like in the movie. The Hogwarts ride again was amazing. You were fliying through a quidditch game, had a dragon chase you and you went through the forbidden forrest before you fly over the lake to the castle again. It was beautiful!
All in all a really good day for me and my Harry Potter heart!

Disney World Orlando

So! One of the things I was looking most forward to DISNEY WORLD! I am a huge disney fan it was magical! Team there was a huge amountof people so the characters could not go around us so I didn't really get to meet any of the characters, but it was really good anyway. The whole disney world was one big fairytale and somehow what I expected. When you get there you have to take the train or the ferry which is actually really clever because it is basically waiting time but when you are being "active" by being on the ferry.

The food we got there was not the best and you have to know where to go and you have to reserve a table as soon as you get there, if you want to eat at the best restaurants where the disney characters are walking around. So it would be a good idea if I'm going another time.

The fireworks and the parades were the best about it all. The lines was very long because it was Saturday, so we saw most of the parades instead of trying all the rides. The one in the evening was especially good. It was a big lightshow with all the well-known characters. Personally I loved Peter Panasonic even though it was not the famous Peter is have seen around on Tumblr and YouTube. It was also interesting to see the characters in real life now that I went to an audition myself to be one of them.
The firework was the best though. It was with all the classic songs and Tinker Bell actually flew from the top of the castle to start it aLloyd.  It was quite a show. I will recommend everyone visiting to stay and watch the fireworks even though it is quite late. It's almost impossible to get bad pictures there!
